On Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 10:20 p.m., Officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit were patrolling in the area of the 400 block of West Esplanade Road in the City of Oxnard.  Officers observed a blue Ford Mustang driving recklessly in the Home Depot parking lot.  The vehicle was being driven by 20 year-old Oxnard resident, Eloy Magana.  Magana was observed doing “doughnuts” dangerously close to a large crowd that had gathered in the parking lot.  As the officers attempted to contact Magana, Magana exited his car and was seen attempting to discard a loaded handgun. Magana was subsequently arrested for possessing a loaded firearm in public and booked into the Ventura County Jail.
