On Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 5:36 p.m., a Ventura Police Patrol Officer witnessed a vehicle commit a traffic violation near the intersection of Darling and Petit.
The officer attempted to turn his vehicle around in order to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle for the violation. As the officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle accelerated quickly and ran two stop signs, before losing control of the vehicle, which  came to rest in the front yard of a residence at the intersection of Medford and Sterling.
James Moug, 25, of Camarillo, who was found to be the driver of the vehicle, was taken into custody without further incident.  Upon further investigation it was discovered the vehicle he was driving was a stolen vehicle reported earlier today.   Moug was also found to have an active warrant for his arrest.  Moug was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries sustained during the accident.  He was later booked into the Ventura County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, and the outstanding arrest warrant.
