On Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 10:40 a.m., the Ventura Police Command Center received a call in reference to a deceased male found in a residence located in the 400 block of South Evergreen Street. Ventura Police Patrol Officers responded to the location along with Ventura City Fire and located the victim, Arnold Ikeda, 37, who had suffered a gunshot wound. Ventura Police Major Crimes Detectives and an investigator from the Ventura County Coroner’s office responded to the scene and are conducting an investigation.

Ventura PD investigators developed information that on March 20, 2016, that there was an argument at the victim’s residence between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Witnesses heard what appeared to be a gunshot followed by a vehicle leaving the area. The Ventura County Coroner’s Office has ruled Ikeda’s death as a homicide. The autopsy concluded that Ikeda died from a single gunshot wound to his leg. Investigators do not have any suspects at this time.
