Auburn Fire


At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2016, Kern County Fire Department received a call for a dumpster fire fully involved next to a condominium in the 6000 block of Auburn Street. Kern County Fire Engine 42 arrived on scene and quickly deployed a hose line to extinguish the fire. Assisting engine crews made access to the condo to check for extension. Estimated of $20,000 of damage was done to the side of the condo, but crews were able to save approximately $600,000 to the rest of the buildings. The fire was extinguished in 20 minutes and crews will remain on scene for mop up. Fire is under investigation.
