Major Injury Accident Highway 118

On Thursday, April 14, 2016 at approximately 6:40 a.m., a traffic collision occurred involving a red 2004 Ford Expedition and a white 2000 Chevrolet Silverado on Highway 118, east of Club House Drive.
A 20 year old male driver from Fillmore, was driving a red 2004 Ford Expedition on eastbound Highway 118, east of Club House Drive.  For reasons that are still under investigation, the male driver lost control of his vehicle and crossed over a set of double yellow lines traveling into the westbound lane of Highway 118, which caused a head on collision with a white 2000 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling within the westbound lane.  Due to the collision the red Ford came to rest within the north shoulder.  The white Chevrolet came to rest within the westbound lane.  Both vehicles sustained major front end damage.
The male driver of the Ford Expedition sustained minor injuries and declined to be transported.  The right front passenger within the Ford Expedition also sustained minor injuries and not transported.  A 63 year old male driver from Moorpark, driving the white Chevrolet sustained major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center.
