Arrest of Homicide Suspect


On October 27, 2015 at 2 a.m., Oxnard police officers responded to the 1500 block of South Oxnard Boulevard regarding an assault. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found Paul Blevins, 50, with life threatening stab wounds. Blevins was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center. Unfortunately, Blevins died as a result of the injuries he sustained from the assault.
Major Crimes Investigators took over the investigation and were able to identify a suspect. The suspect, George Edward Malone, 47, of Port Hueneme, was arrested at Ventura County Jail on Monday, April 25, 2016 for the murder of Blevins. Malone was already in custody for narcotics related charges not associated with the homicide.
Although Malone has been arrested for this murder, Major Crimes Investigators are continuing to investigate this case.
