Strong Arm Robbery

On Friday, May 20, 2016 at 12:50 p.m., the Ventura Police Department Command Center received a call from the victim reporting that she was the victim of a robbery.  Officers responded and located the victim, who uses a wheelchair, in the 1600 block of S. Victoria Avenue.

Officers learned the victim was on a near-by bike path using a kindle device, when the suspect, a Hispanic Male, 20’s, wearing a black hoodie, approached her and grabbed it.  The suspect tried to forcibly take it from the victim.  The victim held onto the device, but was punched by the suspect and she let go.  The suspect took the device and fled on foot.  He was last seen running towards Victoria Avenue. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.
