VENTURA, Calif. – Todd McNamee, Director of Airports for the County of Ventura, has been elected as Secretary/Treasurer of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) for 2016-2017.
With this role, McNamee is in line to assume the role of AAAE Chair in 2019-20 and also serves on the Association’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Founded in 1928, AAAE is the world’s largest professional organization representing the men and women who work at public-use commercial and general aviation airports.
“The County of Ventura is very proud of Todd’s selection for this key leadership role in this important national airport association. He has done a great job of managing the County’s two airports and business parks and is passionate about aviation,” said County Executive Officer Michael Powers. “He speaks highly of his colleagues in AAAE, and his ability to work with them to identify best and innovative practices in airport management. It is wonderful to see that his colleagues hold him in equally high regard. Todd has also long been a strong advocate for public use, general aviation airports at the local, state and federal level. We know he will be effective in this important new role.”
McNamee joined the County of Ventura in 2001 as the Deputy Director of Airports and was appointed as the Director of Airports in 2005. He oversees the operations, maintenance, and development of the Camarillo Airport and Oxnard Airport. McNamee is also a Past President of the Southwest Chapter of AAAE and has received numerous awards including the SWAAAE Award of Distinction for his service to the aviation industry.

Prior to joining the County of Ventura, McNamee was Senior Program Manager and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Pilot for Space Industries. He also held positions as a UAS pilot, manager and specialist for companies such as Sky High RPA’s, BAI Aerosystems and AeroVironment.
