Fatal Traffic Collision

On Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 8:35 a.m., the Ventura Police Command Center received a 911 call reporting an injury traffic collision involving a golf cart and motor vehicle at the intersection of Darling Road and Poinsettia Gardens Drive.  Arriving officers found the driver of the golf cart, a 69-year-old male, non-responsive from his injuries he suffered in the accident.  He was treated at the scene by Ventura City Fire personnel and then transported to VCMC by AMR ambulance.  The driver later died of his injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed the golf cart entered the roadway and was struck by the motor vehicle which was travelling westbound on Darling Road.  The adult female driver of the vehicle stopped and remained at the scene.  She was not injured.The Ventura Police Department Traffic Unit responded to the scene and conducted the investigation.  Once further information has been obtained from the investigation, the Traffic Unit will send out an additional press release.
