Highway 118 Fatal

On Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 2:18 p.m., a traffic collision occurred on Highway 118 eastbound (Ronald Reagan Freeway) west of Rocky Peak.  A 2008 Toyota Scion was traveling eastbound Highway 118 west of Rocky Peak in the number 4 lane.  A 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound Highway 118 west of Rocky Peak in the number 2 lane, to the left rear of the Toyota.  While the Toyota was traveling eastbound, the right rear tire of the vehicle went flat and the driver lost control of the vehicle.  As a result, the Toyota veered directly into the path of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, causing the front of the motorcycle to collide into the right rear of the Toyota.  The rider of the Harley-Davidson was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries at the scene.   The identity of the deceased will be released upon notification of next of kin by the Ventura County Examiner’s Office.
The number 1 and 2 lanes of 118 were closed for approximately 4 hours during the on scene investigation. This collision remains under investigation by Officer Marsden of the Moorpark CHP Area Office.
