Attempted Murder

On Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 12:50 a.m., the VPD Communications Center received multiple calls regarding gun shots heard in the area of the 1300 block of Saratoga Avenue.  Officers arrived on scene and located a crime scene in the Pepper Tree apartment complex.  The victim, Gilbert Rivera, 30, was found to have suffered a minor injury to his chin as a result of being shot during the altercation.  Rivera was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Officers investigating the crime learned that the victim got into a verbal altercation with two suspects.  One of the suspects was armed with a firearm.  The suspect armed with the firearm fired several rounds at the victim and at a nearby apartment.  Both suspects fled the scene.  Officers searched the area for the suspects, but they were not located.  Suspect 1; a Hispanic male, 16-17, shaved head, black shirt, blue jeans, suspect 2; a Hispanic male, 17-19, black hair, dark hat, blue pants.
