On Monday, July 18, 201 at 1 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit (gang unit) were conducting uniform gang enforcement in area of Lupita and First Streets, where they conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation.
SEU officers contacted Jose Salazar, 21, and another subject in the vehicle. Salazar is a known member of an active street gang and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia. During a search of the vehicle a loaded revolver was located. Salazar was arrested for weapons and narcotics related charges. The second subject was released from the scene.
