Indecent Exposure Arrest


On Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 8:09 p.m., the Ventura Police Command Center received a call of a subject engaging in lewd acts inside the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at 4360 E. Main Street in Ventura. It was reported that the suspect, later identified as Steven Perry, 49, had partially removed his pants and was exposing himself. Perry left the business prior to officers’ arrival.
Major Crimes Detectives conducted an investigation and identified Perry as the suspect. Perry has several prior convictions for indecent exposure and is currently on parole for these prior convictions. Additionally, Perry is a registered sex offender. On Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 11 a.m., with the assistance of State Parole, Perry was located in Studio City and taken into custody without incident. Perry was transported to Ventura to be interviewed by Detectives. He was then booked at the Ventura County Jail for 314(1) PC – Indecent exposure with a prior and for a parole violation.
