On Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11:30 a.m., a fatal collision occurred on Highway  150 at Chumash Road involving a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2003 Chevrolet 1500 truck.
A male driver, age 23 out of Long Beach, was driving a white 2003 Chevrolet 1500 on eastbound Highway 150 approaching Chumash Road.  A male rider, age 67, from Fillmore, was riding his black 2000 Harley Davidson with a female passenger, age 66, also from Fillmore, on eastbound Highway 150 directly behind the Chevrolet.  For reasons that are still under investigation, as the Chevrolet attempted to make a turn onto Chumash Road, the Harley Davidson veered to the right and collided with the right rear corner of the Chevrolet.  Both the male rider and the female passenger were ejected as a result of the collision and came to rest within the roadway.
The male rider of the Harley Davidson was transported to Ventura County Medical Center via air unit where he succumbed to his injuries.  His name is not releasable at this time pending notification of next of kin.  The passenger of the Harley Davidson sustained major injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center by ambulance.  The male driver of the Chevrolet 1500 was not injured from the collision and was not transported.  The collision is still under investigation by the Ventura Area CHP Office.  Anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the collision is asked to call the Ventura Area CHP office at (805) 477-4100.
