In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 30, 2016, an alert Thousand Oaks resident heard a noise in his driveway and subsequently noticed the passenger side door to his parked vehicle was open. An unknown male suspect exited the vehicle holding the resident’s property in his hand. After a brief verbal exchange, the resident took two pictures of the male suspect before the suspect fled the scene.
The Thousand Oaks Police Department is asking the public for assistance in identifying the suspect depicted in the attached image. The male suspect is described a white male, 18-25 years old with a thin build. The City of Thousand Oaks has experienced an increase in the amount of vehicle thefts and vehicle burglaries in the past few months. The Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to remind the citizens of Thousand Oaks and the surrounding communities to remove any valuable property from their vehicles when left unattended and to ensure their vehicles are locked and secure when parked.  Taking these minor precautions can go a long way in the effort to prevent thefts. Property crimes often lead to identity theft. The public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in this case will help deter future crimes. The Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to thank the citizens of Thousand Oaks for their on-going support and diligence in providing information to assist our agency in solving crimes.
