Armed Robbery Suspect Charged

On Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 11:30 p.m., there was an armed robbery that occurred at the Mobil gas station convenience store located at 942 South Westlake Boulevard. Detectives assigned to the Thousand Oaks Police Major Crimes Unit obtained information which identified John Marciniak, 26, as the person responsible for committing the crime.  On Sunday, August 14, 2016, Marciniak was involved in a family disturbance at his residence in the City of Calabasas.  Marciniak was arrested by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for crimes related to the disturbance and booked in Los Angeles Men’s Central Jail. Thousand Oaks Police investigators obtained a search warrant for Marciniak’s residence and evidence related to the Thousand Oaks armed robbery was located.  On Monday, August 15, 2016, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and elected to file one count of robbery against Marciniak.  Marciniak will be transported to Ventura County Jail once his case in Los Angeles County is adjudicated.
