On Friday, August 19, 2016 at 4 p.m., officers responded to a call of domestic violence that occurred in the 400 block of South “C” Street.  After contacting the victim and confirming that a crime had been committed, the officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of King Street in the City of Oxnard.  Officers contacted the residents who informed the officers that the suspect, Ivan Lopez, 30, had locked himself in the laundry room of the residence.  Officers entered the laundry room and found that it appeared that the suspect had fled prior to their arrival. Prior to exiting the laundry room, officers decided to check one last location for the suspect.  Upon opening the door to the front loading dryer, officers located the suspect hiding within the dryer.  The subject was compliant and removed himself from the dryer and was then taken into custody without incident. Lopez was arrested for felony domestic violence, and resisting/delaying/obstructing the duties of a police officer.
